Cabin Baggage on Cathay Pacific

  • Passengers on Cathay Pacific are authorised to bring cabin luggage onboard their trip; however, the specific allowance varies based on the booked service class.
  • Passengers in Economy and Premium Economy can bring one piece of carry-on luggage on board. Its total weight must not exceed 7kg.
  • Business travellers are allowed to bring one piece of carry-on luggage on board, with a total weight of no more than 10kg. First-class passengers are permitted to bring one piece of carry-on luggage with a combined weight of no more than 15kg.

Cabin luggage cannot exceed the maximum dimensions of 23cm x 36cm x 56cm.

When to be ready for boarding?

Before 30 minutes before your flight's departure, you should be ready to board. You cannot be late because it will result in the cancellation of your flight or additional booking expenses. After all, you will have caused an unwarranted delay for all passengers.

When does Cathay Pacific's check-in desk open?

Passengers with a Cathay Pacific reservation can use their mobile app to check-in 48 hours to 1.5 hours before their trip. However, for flights to/from the United States, check-in begins 24 hours before departure.

Cathay Pacific's web check-in requirements

If you are a Club/Asia Miles member or have purchased a ticket through the Cathay website, check-in 90 minutes to 48 hours before your flight is due to depart. If you have electronic access, check in 90 minutes to 24 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart.
